I've got it last june and my experience with it is great. I use it in Final Cut Pro, but you can set it up for almost every other application. I also use it sometimes in Quicktime, safari and alot of other programs. And all the programmable buttons are nice to, no more keyboard shortcuts, well not all. So if youre doing alot of editing in FCP or Imovie i can say it saves time. But i also have done alot of editing with my keyboard and mouse, you can do it but it's abit time consuming.
