So, is it dead? No episodes for more than 2 wks. What's up with that?

I really enjoyed it, though, as others mentioned, there were some audio problems.

This episode downloaded via my subscription to the mac-cast as Adam had announced. As games are of little interest to me, I didn't stay long with it. Maybe this episode was not representative of the normal output.

Unfortunately because of the nature of this broadcast, i.e. 'live', it is not so easy for us here in the uk to know when exactly to tune in.

However I shall try another episode to see if the new format produces something of interest in addition to Adam's excellent mac-cast.

Good show! Glad the feed came down the maccast pipe.

A few addicting games I could not tear myself away from.
On my OS 7 Mac ll were "Glider" a B/W Hypercard game?
"Foobar VS the DEA" and "Mille Bornes".
My OS 8,9 iMacs burned up "Ultimate Pool" and "Prometheus" (now Qrax) originally arcade Qix? http://www.qnote.com/
Now my G4 Mini loves all the Flash games I can grab and play with "iSwift" http://echoone.com/iSwiff/flashfinder.html

BTW, my 5 year old boy has been running my G3 iMacs since he was 2! And his Reader Rabbit learning software prefers OS8.6.
So go out and buy the little ones G3 iMacs!

I spent perhaps too many of my teen years playing Asteroids. And yes "Maelstorm" was killer. But now the "Flash Genius" Paul Neave has revived our classics here - http://www.neave.com/games/
Restoring my faith in Humanity! . . http://www.neave.com/

Rene it's because talkshoe sends out the audio to iTunes immediately after the show, before Adam and I have a chance to upload the better quality audio.

We are working on how to prevent this. Thanks for the feedback.

I checked the downloadable MP3 on the Talkshoe website, and that audio was okay. Only the MP3 from the podcast feed was low in quality. Perhaps Talkshoe fed the streaming audio instead of the downloadable audio to iTunes by mistake.

Adam and I are working on improving the audio and I have of what might be the issue and how to improve it (at least on Adam's voice and my voice). The callers will sound like phone because they are live.

Thanks for the input Rene.

Aaahhh... Dark Castle. Both excellent games. Jon Gay wrote DC as a high-schooler and I remember that it had just been released when I joined Silicon Beach Software. One of the best, most fun projects I ever worked on was beta-testing "Beyond Dark Castle" (the sequel). The best part was feeling like all of us internal SBS gamers really contributed to the new puzzles.

Anyone remember Apache Strike? Also... another SBS game (the first) was Airborne! For awhile there was a derivative of that on iPods of all things... Could Jobs be a closet Airborne! fan?? ;-)

KLR

PS: Maelstrom was awesome too - I killed many, many cycles getting good at that one. "Suhweet!"

I hope the audio quality will get better, because it was horrible to listen to (audio-wise). Of course, the content was alright, as usual.
