The BBC Trust have approved the iPlayer and given the beeb TWO YEARS to find a solution (so much for re-engineered!!), and they have gone on to say that these two years is depedent on other parties. The progress will be reviewed every 6 months. So, to me, it seems nothing more than lip service, and in the mean time UK license fee payers are helping towards a Microsoft software app that for two years (maybe more, maybe less) will give Microsoft based systems an unfair commercial advantage. Boo to the beeb, if ever there was an instance of a DRM issue hurting genuine users more than pirates this is one :-( Hi - bit late catching up with this show, but just wanted to point out that the ‘good news’ in relation to the BBC iPlayer is, well, urmm not such good news after all.

Many resellers will require proof of student status either with an ID card or " .edu" email address. It's important to remember that companies expect anything developed from the use of their software will be used for educational purposes (e.g. not developing Flash content for paying clients). If I go to About this Mac, and then close the window, i crash. Several other things cause this too. And the crash isn't a freeze, what happens is all my apps quit and my Finder restarts. AND, when I shut down.... my Mac doesn't shut down now, it just restarts. Actually I don't get the startup sound or anything. It just looks like all my apps quit and the Finder restarts. this is the first time I've had trouble with apple patches. sucks. I don't have time to screw around with trying to fix it. I had a problem with the last update but I had caused the problem by updating while EyeTV was recording and converting (Stupid me!). I had to go to Safe Mode to install the Combo Updater but then had a Slow Boot issue which was fixed by going into Open Firmware and doing a reset-nvram and reset-all (this doesn't work on Intel Systems, just zap the PR). Moral of this story, don't be doing anything on your System when an Update is occurring. Keep up the great work. Adam,
