I don’t normally cross-post, but this little iPhone tip came across my RSS feed and I thought it was so clever I had to share. Smoosh away!

Smooshtacts — iPhone Contact Photo Awesomeness: “

Stuck in an iphone photoSo you’ve got one o’ dem shiny new iPhones and you’ve been pinching and flicking and browsing and occasionally even making phone calls all week.

What next?

How about some killer custom contact photos? We adore these trapped-inside-the-iPhone style contact pics we found via our pal Brad Smith.

If you’ve got a Jesus phone, grab a friend, gently prod them face-first into the nearest scanner (or glass door) and get going! (And if you have a friend with an iPhone, be sure to forward this along.)

The technique yields amazing smooshed contact photos (’smooshtacts!’) for an iPhone, but it also makes a great background pic for any other mobile phone.

ok, I’ll admit my failure here. How does one get a contact pic to be full screen like this? Mine only shows a thumbnail in the upper right corner. Otherwise, my wallpaper pic shows.

Thanks Adam, another reason to not clean up the house. And I still haven’t updated my contacts from the old cell….By the way, I activated to iPhone last Sunday, my contract with Verizon is up 7/21 and I’m getting daily messages from Verizon offering sweeter deals to come back.

DaveGillam: To get the full screen picture when getting a call, you have to assign a photo located in the “Photos” application on your iphone to the contact. I wondered the exact same thing after I read this post as I did most of my contact photos in Address Book on my Mac.

I’m tempted to do this at work, but afraid I’ll get the scanner dirty.
