Adam,

Two items...

1) I agree with Peter.... Apple also is searching for relationships with other carriers.. carriers that aren't going to be eager to partner with a company that can't honor the dedicated relationships or the terms of the agreement.

2) Can you please clarify the SMS tip... I don't get it! If you add a buddy, how does ichat become 'aware' that the individual is 'on-line' -- you can only SMS on-line buddies, right? If you're texting to a cell phone, the individual is likely mobile and not sitting at his computer. Or is this designed to SMS someone on AIM's mobile service??

Thanks

Adam -

While AT&T will definitely want to keep iPhones on their network, Apple also has a huge incentive to keep the phones locked to AT&T because Apple is getting a cut of the activation AND the usage on the phones. This money will probably, over the years, be hugely more profitable than the actual sale of the phones. If the iPhone can easily be used on other networks, there is no way that Apple will be able to negotiate similar deals in the future.

Hey Adam,

I'm having a problem with this episode, it seems to cut out at 14:54 and not play past that point in iTunes. Is this just me?

Great work with the Maccast- keep it up!
