A podcast about all things Macintosh. For Mac geeks, by Mac geeks. A special episode of the Maccast from Macworld 2009. I sat down to talk to the folks from Quickoffice about the new Pro version of their MobileFiles iPhone app that is bringing full native Microsoft Excel editing to the iPhone.

Very unimpressed that you used an entire episode to talk about a niche product that is only important to those that use office documents AND own an iPhone. I don’t own an iPhone, but I am a mac user, so this episode didn’t even get listened to. I just deleted it from the list. I love the show and would not have minded having one part of an episode reference software or hardware that I don’t have, but devoting this whole episode to QuickOffice was simply disappointing. Heres looking to the next episode! Just a suggestion… probably not a good idea to devote the whole time to a product that only impacts a VERY small subset of your listeners. Thanks for all your hard work and years of an excellent podcast.

    Jonathan,
Thanks for the feedback. This is just the first in what i think will be about 15 segments I did at Macworld. I am putting them out as individual episodes and that means you are free to skip some if they don’t interest you. This is only the first one with more to come. Hang in there, I am sure there will be some that will interest you.

We are very pleased to know about MobileFiles Pro, the first iPhone application with the ability to access and view almost any file including iWork files, plus Excel editing and saving directly on the iPhone.

Quickoffice is taking an important first step in providing business users with useful applications that allow them to easily create and edit Excel files, much like they do on their desktop.
