Thanks for discussing Handbrake. I have the Turbo.264, and was using it daily, then QT stopped working. It no longer encodes 264. Typically, I make short language learning movies made from a still picture and audio track. When I combine these in QT and output them, now the resulting file is black with the audio track. This problem is discussed on the Apple Discussions, but I don’t have time to continue to try to fix it, if it can be.

I should clarify that Handbrake doesn’t help me to make videos with a picture and audio file like QT, but it has enabled me to start archiving all of my family mpeg2 videos from an older camcorder. I’m not moving away from making home DVDs. Finally!
