Apple 'Let Us Loop You In' Event

If you’d like to hang out and chat with other members of the Maccast community during today’s live streaming of Apple’s 03.21.2016 ‘Let Us Loop You In’ live event, we’ve set up a live chat here.

The official stream starts March 21st at 10 a.m. PDT, but we’ll be hanging out before hand, so feel free to come join us.

The system is an IRC based chat and uses a Flash based embedded client (which may take some time to load), so it requires Flash to be installed. If you prefer, you can also connect using an IRC client of your choice to irc.geekshed.net port 6667. I use Textual 5 on my Mac and they have an iOS version available. The channel(room) to use is #themaccast.

A podcast about all things Macintosh. For Mac geeks, by Mac geeks. Episode 196. Whenever a tech story comes up that involves security there are often a lot of industry specific terms thrown around. When that happens sites don’t often take the time to explain phrases like “backdoor” or “encryption”. I thought it might be helpful to have just a basic background in terms you might hear when stories like this come up. Our friend George Starcher joins me to go over this basic security glossary.

Maccast Members 195 – Adaptation

Written by: Adam Christianson

A podcast about all things Macintosh. For Mac geeks, by Mac geeks. Episode 195. I’ve been thinking lately about adaptation. Not the 2002 movie starring Nicholas Cage, but the need or ability to change in response to the imposed conditions. There are many reasons I’ve been pondering this and I thought it could make a good starting point for us to have a conversation, so that’s what I’m going to do in this episode.
