Dashboard Widgets susceptible to attack

Developer Stephan, created a couple of widgets called, "zaptastic". They install themselves and then cannot be removed unless you know to look in the /Library/Widgets and ~/Library/Widgets folder

One version redirects to a web browser so it cause Dashboard to exit and the widget cannot be closed, and therefore cannot be trashed without a reboot.

The main issue is with Safari and it auto install feature for widgets.

widgets are generally prohibited from performing destructive tasks in the system, so these hacks would mostly be annoying or "denial of service" type attacks.

You can protect yourself by turning off the "Open "safe" files after downloading" feature in Safari's General preferences tab.
