First Tiger update released

OS 10.4.1 update released via Software Update

Enhancements include:

file sharing using AFP and SMB/CIFS network file services
using DHCP in wireless networks
user login when accessing LDAP and Active Directory servers
core graphics including updated ATI and NVIDIA graphics drivers
synchronization with .Mac
Address Book, iCal, Font Book, Mail, and Preview applications
Dashboard widgets: Address Book, Flight Tracker, Phone Book, and World Clock
creating and burning disk images using Disk Utility
compatibility with third party applications and devices

Update does not fix widget vulnerability. Safari does warn that the .wdgt file is an application.

Apple wins Tiger Direct lawsuit

Tiger Direct was seeking an injunction against Apple alleged the promotion and news coverage of Tiger caused their search engine rankings to drop costing them business.

A Florida Judge ruled last week that granting an injunction would do more harm to Apple than Apple's use of the Tiger name could potentially do to Tiger Directs business.

Apple officially announces 1st Canadian Apple Store

Apple has announced the opening of Canada's first Apple Store at Yorkdale Mall in Toronto.

Store will open Saturday May 21st at 9:00 AM. The first 1,500 people will get free Apple t-shirts.
