A podcast about all things Macintosh. For Mac geeks, by Mac geeks. Episode 127. Doing a guest spot on the Mac Show (British Tech Network) the subject of Tim Cook came up and I realized that even though he’s been at the helm of Apple for a while, we really don’t know much about him. In this episode I take advantage of the great D10 interview he gave recently to try and get to know and understand Tim Cook a bit better.

A podcast about all things Macintosh. For Mac geeks, by Mac geeks. Show 398. We are lucky at the Maccast because we have an amazing community that can contribute some great history and insight into the evolution of technology and Apple products. This week share an interview I had with Nat Bletter (Madre Chocolate) who was at the Standford Research Institute (SRI) in the early days before the spun off Nuance and the technology for Siri. We talk about a number of interesting technologies like Virtual Reality, voice recognition, natural language parsing, and augmented reality. How these technologies started, evolved, an eventually found their ways into are Apple gear. It’s an interesting journey.

Of course most people like to completely unplug on vacation, but being the geek that I am I like my tech and I take it with me. As I set about getting things ready I thought you might be interested in my packing list and why I take the things I do.

A podcast about all things Macintosh. For Mac geeks, by Mac geeks. Episode 124. Since the release of Apple’s iBooks Author tool back in January I have been looking forward to seeing what people start to do with it. More so, I wanted to know what the process was like for actually creating, producing, and selling an eBook using the tool. In this show I talk with colleague and friend David Sparks (Mac Power Users) about exactly that. His new iBooks Authored book, Paperless, just launched on the iBookStore and he took some time to share the self publishing creation process with us.

A podcast about all things Macintosh. For Mac geeks, by Mac geeks. Episode 123. Often when we buy a new Mac there is Mac left that, while may not meet you’re current needs, still has life left in it. I thought we’d cover some obvious and maybe not so obvious things to do with that old Mac.
