My fiancee and I bought a 12″ Powerbook last year and shortly thereafter, the screen went wild with moving pixels, flashing lines, blotches of blue pixels, etc.

We brought it in for service and after four unsuccessful attempts to fix the screen (and 5 weeks in the Texas repair center) Apple eventually replaced the Powerbook. I still don’t think they know why the screen went bad.

If the 30″ cinema displays are having similar problems, then replacements seem to be the best bet. I hope Apple figures it out and makes some sort of public notice about it so people can get their defective screens fixed or replaced.
