Original Sketch for the Maccast Logo

Tonight I stumbled across this scan of the original sketch of the concept for the Maccast logo. Fun to run across a piece of history when browsing through the Finder. The created date on the file says 4/19/2005, so i guess the logo came about 4 months after the first show was posted. I can’t remember what I did for album art for those first 4 months. Guess that’s archeological research I’ll have to do another time. For now enjoy this little piece of Maccast past.

Thanks for the info on the flash player killer. I wish I’d known about it 6 months ago. My ibook got so bad (fan running; incredibly hot) that I thought it was a hardware problem (and I sent it into Apple for repair) and it was Flash in Safari that was causing the problem. Funny thing was that the techs at Apple couldn’t figure it out, but I did! The tech did tell me to run Activity Monitor and that was what helped me figure out the problem. Unfortunately, my battery has the effects that I can’t repair except buying a new one before I needed to.

I love that it’s on a yellow legal pad.

I started listening around mid-January 2005 (I wasn’t a Mac user at the time). I want to say that there most likely wasn’t any album art in those early days, especially since most podcatchers were also the players….ah, good old ipodder.

Adam, don’t loose that sketch, it’s great! I’ve been a dedicated fan of the Maccast for about six months now, and I have to say that it was the logo that caught my eye and pulled me in. Without it, I’d probably be listening to some other boring podcast instead.
