    Adam,

A nifty tool for getting to use keyboard shortcuts is KeyCue, a software from a German developer http://www.ergonis.com/products/keycue/.

The software (which is launched on start-up and runs in the background), provides you with a keyboard shortcut cheat sheet for the application that you are using (you just keep the command key pressed down). I use it quite a bit, especially for software that I do not use on a regular basis.
