    Hi Adam,
Each and every week I listen to your show, now perhaps for five years. When listening to today’s show re IOS 6 issues and WiFi I suddenly thought maybe you could help me out.

Recently I became aware that my WiFi syncing does not work for my iPhone 4S or my iPad3, i e they do not show up in iTunes when connected to charging/WiFi as was before. With a cable they show up. The sync button in the IOS device is greyed.

Today I made a total reset of my iPhone to no avail. Still not working. Have checked in various Apple communities to find a conclusive remedy but I have not yet found any clear one. Maybe simply due to that nobody has found it. Or I may have not found it.

Hope you can help me (and others as I trust there are more than one meeting this challenge judging from the number of entries re this topic in communities)

    Thanks,
    Leif

    Hi again,
After having sent you the message in the morning, the same evening I detected that the router did not allow AirPlay to my stereo. When finally I got the Airport Extreme and Airport Express up and running suddenly the the WiFi-sync started!

Wanted to convey this in order for others to know this possibly source of mishap.

Remaining question: Is there a way to not use my desk top WiFi to get both AirPlay and the sync to work? E g to use a cable from my desk top to my Airport Extreme which is bridging to the Airport Express?

    Thanks,
    Leif

The podcast app problem will only happen if your last podcast was stopped by an audio route change. That is to say disconnecting your headphone, power off your bluetooth connection, etc. So the work around is to always press the pause button (either in the app or in the lock screen) to stop it.
