A podcast about all things Macintosh. For Mac geeks, by Mac geeks. Show 435. What are all those Androids up to? iPhone 5S may get a new touch. New Apple TV may have tweaked A5 processor. Some Retina Macbook Pro owners reporting fan issues. iPad mini maximizing sales. Apple’s music service delayed by lowball offer. Apple will remain a major tablet player for a while. Apple continues to secretly improve Maps. Few more iTunes import tricks. “Other” iOS data you don’t see. OS X Mail Format tools missing. Share files between users on same Mac.

I prefer the Google Maps because I like how it integrates with googles database of local stuff. I just put in the name and it finds it. I also think the traffic is great as it will show my 3 ways to go and tell me how heavy the traffic is. What frustrates me about apple maps is i can’t seem to drag the map around with my finger when I am doing turn by turn directions. Many times I want to see what is up ahead and can’t do that. Google’s new map is a huge upgrade from the app they had built into iOS 5.

My other fav. map is Garmin N. America. I like the design better. It’s nicer to look at and it has some cool graphics. It does have traffic too but not as good as google’s.

Might have a solution for Patrick…

PhoneClean from http://www.imobie.com It cleans out caches etc from iOS devices and removed 6GB from my iPad which was useful!

Also, on permissions issues, I would recommend BatChmod from http://www.lagentesoft.com/batchmod/index.html

    Hope these are useful

Hi Adam-I just finished listening to this podcast and had a question: I wanted to see if I had any attachments on my iPhone that was taking up space so I downloaded the extractor. I went to the bottom of the list and there was iOS Files and I clicked on Extract but I couldn’t find a folder that said iOS in the Library. I must be looking in the wrong place or could it be that I don’t have any iOS files with attachments……??? I don’t know but I need help here. Thanks, love your show, Judy
