One item concerning Catalina that I have seldom seen mentioned is that you do not appear to be able to install on a firewire drive. There was a message stating that when I tried. I was able to install on that drive using the USB interface, but even after installing, I could still not choose that drive to boot from when interfacing with a firewire cable.
