Regarding the Mac Pro cost, as a design professional, I’ve always estimated the hourly cost of a computer then figured out if I could charge at least double that to my clients due to faster production from my current computer.

So if I’m going to purchase a $15,000 computer and use it for 6 years at 1500 hours per year, that’s for 9000 hours in total or $1.66 per hour.

If I can charge double that or $3.33 per hour more it makes sense to purchase.

Given I’ll also enjoy having the latest and greatest Apple product, I figure that makes the Mac Pro and the new monitor an easy purchase for my needs and won’t worry more about it.
