    Adam,
Love Love Love the show… It is by far the best Mac Info show out there in Pod land. Please keep up the great work, I hope your passion for Macintosh last forever, because I am totally hooked on your show!

In my Bloglines reading I came across an article talking about the improvements of Tiger 10.4.1 and Widget vulnerability and that the new Update for Tiger10.4.1 addresses the vulnerability by alerting you about the auto install, so if they are right it was not in the original Tiger 10.4.
    See article: http://www.tuaw.com/2005/05/17/10-4-1-addresses-widget-vulnerability/

That’s right Lauren. The entire vulnerability was that Widgets could be installed without user confirmation. By adding the new dialog (a la the existing application download dialog), Apple has plugged the hole.

As the user is explicitly allowing the installation of new Widgets now, the onus resides squarely on the user.
