UPDATE/ WARNING: I have been made aware of a potentially BIG issue with Monolingual if you own an Intel Mac. By default Monolingual is set up to remove the PowerPC “architecture” on Intel based Macs. Removing this architecture will cause Rosetta applications to no longer run. So if you use Monolingual make sure to uncheck all the options to remove architectures. If you have already been effected by this issue I have heard you need to do an Archive and Install of Tiger to get Rosetta functionlity back.

New Apple Mac vs. PC Ads
Written by: Adam Christianson
Categories: News
Looks like Apple is continuing to expand their “Get a Mac” TV campaign. They just posted 3 new ads to the http://www.apple.com/getamac site.
I have to say I think they may even be better than the first round of ads. These seem to really focus on the concept that using a Mac will help you get things done, a concept I always felt Apple had a hard time expressing in their advertising. One of the ads even highlights the Macs new ability to run OS X and Windows XP (notice the legal line about needing to buy Windows). Overall I think these ads are a nice addition to Apple’s marketing blitz. They also seem slightly more compelling for switchers than the last batch, but are probably still a little more for Mac fans than potential PC defectors. Of course, I am still waiting to see those Gisele ads.

Hey Geeks. Well I know it has been a week now since the last “true” MacCast. I have a show in the works, but it just seems to be taking forever to get it together. As I sit writing this it is 1:00 AM Friday morning and I am now just ready to record. The trouble is when I am this tired it takes me a lot longer to get the recording done (like 3-5 hours). The quality level goes way down and I just seem to mess up a lot more. Funny, you’d think sleep depravation would improve mental awareness. *sarcasm*. Anyway, if you don’t mind I am going to get some sleep. Look for a “Super Sized” MacCast to be out sometime Saturday morning.
If you really need a fix, we finally recorded another episode of the MacRoundtable Podcast, so you can listen to me and the other guys over there.
Nite.
